Terms of Use

Last updated: October 4, 2026

By downloading or using Lockout you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The app

Lockout is a training tool that uses your iPhone camera to check exercise form and count repetitions. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use it on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms.

Exercise at your own risk

Lockout is not medical advice and is not a medical device. Physical exercise carries a risk of injury. Talk to a doctor before starting a training programme, especially if you have an injury, a medical condition, or are pregnant. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. You are responsible for training in a safe space and within your own limits.

Accuracy

Rep checking is based on automated pose estimation from a camera image. It can be wrong: lighting, clothing, camera angle and distance all affect it. A verified rep is not a guarantee of safe or correct technique, and a rejected rep is not a diagnosis.

Acceptable use

Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where the law allows it, and do not use it in a way that is unlawful or harms others.

Content

The app, its design, text and illustrations belong to the developer of Lockout. Third-party components are used under their own licences.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of Lockout is not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Apple

These terms are between you and the developer of Lockout, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new terms.
